Daniel moved to Syracuse in 2002 to pursue a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at SUNY-ESF, specializing in Urban Design and Planning and Historic Preservation. Post-graduation, he opted to remain in Syracuse and commenced his career as a Neighborhood Planner at Home HeadQuarters, where he gained exposure to diverse neighborhoods throughout the city.

Daniel and his ex-husband adopted three children through foster care and fostered several others, thereby gaining firsthand insights into the challenges our community encounters on a daily basis. His three children have attended Fraser, Ed Smith, Syracuse Latin, and ITC.

Prior to joining the Greater Syracuse Land Bank Daniel dedicated several years to the real estate industry, selling for-profit properties. Subsequently, he was recruited to the Land Bank, where he currently serve as the Director of Sales and Strategic Initiatives. Through his tenure at the Land Bank, Daniel has successfully added hundreds of properties back onto the tax roll, contributing to an annual revenue of $2.6 million since the Land Bank’s inception.

Over the past two decades, he have witnessed significant transformations in Syracuse and he's more optimistic now than ever about the city’s future. We stand at a pivotal juncture, and it is imperative that we adopt novel approaches and strategies to achieve desired outcomes. Daniel will bring a fresh perspective to the Common Council and innovative thinking that can propel our city into a new era.

Daniel is deeply passionate about our city and is committed to collaborating with the community, members of the Common Council, and the City of Syracuse to usher in a prosperous and abundant future.
